The Aloft Hotel, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts hotel chain, has a staff incorporation somewhat peculiar which is that among its butlers we can meet A.L.O., a robot. The hotel, how it could couldn’t be otherwise, is in Cupertino (California) where Apple‘s headquarters is located.

Not quite impressive, right?

Not quite impressive, right?

The robotic butler is a mixture between WALL-E, in what they’ve been inspired to have his work ethic, and Rosie from the Jetsons, cause they’ve also tried to keep her humour. To all this it’s also added the beeps and flashing lights emitted each time he make a work inspired in R2-D2, another famous robots, so this butler’s truly peculiar.

It even says hi!

It even says hi!

But A.L.O. is not only a toy to catch the interest of the thousands ‘geek’ tourists who pass by the hotel every year, but he actually performs tasks diligently, such as delivering all sorts of things to the rooms. It must be a curious luxury to be delivered the key to your room in the hotel reception by a robot.

The hotel has 123 rooms

The Aloft Hotel, as we’ve mentioned at the beginning, is located in Cupertino, where the almighty Apple headquarters is and very close to its Corporate University. As expected the hotel has plenty of Apple products.

In its 123 rooms there can be found Apple TVs and other ‘gadgets’ of the same brand, also able to be synchronized with all iOS devices and iTunes accounts of customers.

A.L.O. being useful

A.L.O. being useful

It’s definitely a different luxury, since not all hotels have a robot butler, but at the rythm we’re going and how fast all these devices are patented the day in which at the arrival to any hotel we’re served by a robotic butler is not far!
