The car, hitherto referred to as ultra-luxury sedan, will not be built according to the traditional business strategies of the market, but it will be a product that is made to measure, to be implemented at the specific request of each customer. As if it were a piece of tailoring, the future Lagonda will be put on sale at a price announced as Commensurate, based on the exclusivity of the car, its quality and the care lavished by the artisans at Gaydon in the realization of each specimen.

It is clear, in the light of these advances, Aston Martin looks to the east to the Middle East and the United Arab Emirates and even the new rich Russians and Chinese, which is the expansion in more than the U.S. or European markets.

Starting point of the new Lagonda will be the known VH (Vertical – Horizontal) platform, typical of the Gaydon production and has been until now declined in four successive series, for the equipping of the entire production with the exception of the recent Aston Martin One – 77 hypercar and the small and unfortunate Cygnet. In all likelihood, the version chosen for the new Lagonda will be the VH Generation3, a specification of the Rapide model, which is longer, in order to accommodate the body of the car with four doors. The body, as announced by the engineers at Gaydon, will include panels made ​​of carbon fiber. The style of the car body, released a first teaser, recalls clearly the sumptuous lines of Aston Martin Lagonda created in the 80s by the pen of William Towns.

As for the engine of the new Lagonda, Aston Martin has made no official announchements on that part; it is, however, easy to imagine that the vehicle will be equipped with the powerful 5.9 V12 which is also the one used in Rapide, DB9 and Vanquish (on power of 517, 558 and 573 hp), maybe combined with the same automatic transmission with six gears.
