The Swedish house

 This huge residential building is oriented to the south-west and is situated on a slight slope. The house was designed by the architects Egli & Partner, established in Wil, Switzerland. The house stands out, among other things, by the large windows that make up its facade and allow the afternoon sun penetrate generously the rooms.

Kitchen

At first glance, the kitchen is very simple. It is primarily identified by the appliances, since the microwave and the oven are integrated on a white wall apparently closed. In the large surfaces of the cupboards that extend to the ceiling, with no door handles, hides the kitchen equipment. A single white block houses the sink and the ceramic hob, as it divides the spacious room.

From another angle

The material chosen was HI-MACS® for both the countertop and the panels and also for the profile of the different appliances. The Nordic White tone was chosen for several reasons, for it is the one which best fits the desired style for the house, for its brightness and luminosity and for the feeling of hygiene that transmits all the time.

Toilet

It is also interesting to note that the whole house is covered with jointless floors, like the bathroom walls. In addition to this, you can also find HI-MACS® in the toilet space with the sink integrated on a ledge from wall to wall.

The whole room

We love the style and really like the finish, but we must confess that for the toilet we miss the storage furniture. It is true that it looks nice but perhaps with a couple of baskets it is not enough to save everything in the bathroom and something more is necessary. And you, what is your opinion?

Only nine months after its opening, the hotel already got to be named luxury Swiss hotel of the year by Gault Millau. It took more than 300 million francs to build this beautiful palace full of modern technology, wood and limestone.

The Alpina Gstaad

The owner is Jean-Claude Mimran, known to have made a fortune with sugar in Africa -he is also known as the Sugar King of Africa- along with his minority partner Marcel Bach, a local property developer.

Its 56 rooms and suites are decorated to perfection in a contemporary style and the traditional details of the Swiss Alps and local materials.

The Panorama suite is rented for 20,000 francs a night in high season and is a two-level penthouse of 400 square meters, a masterpiece of architectural space and interior design. It is equipped with an outdoor Jacuzzi and its own spa including steam room, sauna, massage room and a gym. From the terrace you will enjoy the most coveted view of the hotel.

Some spectacular views

The cuisine offer is endless, you will not know how to choose one of its three restaurants with a wide international offer. Marcus G. Linder is the executive chef and supervises each of the three restaurants. The main restaurant is an ode to the authentic food and the best products and was awarded a Michelin star.

As a second option you will surprise by the creative Japanese cuisine of Megu restaurant with 16 points in the Gault Millau . The gourmet delicacies of Sommet restaurant are the ultimate expression of the local food and the friendly atmosphere of the Swiss Stübil and have 18 stars in the Gault Millau.

Alpina Gstaad lounge

Another strong point of the hotel are sports, you can enjoy winter adventure sports like cross country, downhill or heli-skiing, dog sledding or perhaps a hot air balloon ride over the peaks of the snow-capped Alps.
