Pininfarina created a luxury electric bike

Throughout 84 years of history, Pininfarina has been responsible for some of the most sweeping designs of contemporary automotive industry. This firm has designed vehicles for major manufacturers such as Ferrari, Maserati and Alfa Romeo. However, since the early 80s, Pininfarina began to expand their market to other types of products. Very recently, the latest creation revealed by the Italian firm is an exclusive electric bicycle called Fuoriserie.

According to the Italian firm, the Fuoriserie was inspired by the custom cars of the 30s. In fact, the leather used for the covers of the handlebar and seat interiors of the Pininfarina design emulates Lancia’s Astoria Bocca 1936.

The Fuoriserie will be manufactured by the Italian company Milano 43 bicycles. Its frame is made of steel tubing Dedacciai Zero DR, hand-soldered. Other unique features include Campagnolo Veloce brakes and tires of Panaracer Kevlar reinforced Rimbo.

It also has a LED lighting system 250-lumen (driven dynamo) hub motor Zehus Bike + 250 watts and a lithium-ion battery that is recharged by the action of the pedals. As it’s being designed by one of the companies that contributed to the success of brands like Ferrari, we anticipate that Fuoriserie will not have a cheap price.

Chivas 18 by Pininfarina | Style meets luxury

Seemingly it is an unlikely pair but the houses of Chivas and Pininfarina have joined their forces and surprise us. Besides both, they have always been known for their innovations in the global market. The car design company Pininfarina signs the design of the limited edition collection Chivas 18 leading to the creation of a limited edition series called Chivas 18 by Pininfarina. Each limited edition features a bottle of Chivas 18 with Pininfarina design elements in the metallized top. The logo is also on the cover of the cap and neck.

The first product is a metallic blue whiskey case with aerodynamic shape, the second case has an extra wooden paneling and impressive Chivas 18 Mascherone by Pininfarina is inspired by Mascherone. It features a lined oak clad aluminum and is hand crafted. Only five were built globally while individual tracks will be by order of discerning collectors. The Chivas 18 by Pininfarina is available in selected stores worldwide, including USA, UK, Russia, China and travel retail from January 2013. Prices range from 105 to 415 euros for the first two editions, while the price of Mascherone is available only upon request.
