The Quattroporte expands its range through two substantial innovations: the 3-liter twin turbo V6 engine and four-wheel drive, coupled exclusively to this engine.
The line of the Quattroporte is the one we know but to differentiate the V6 from the V8 are only the oval tailpipes in place of those belts. And then for the full logo Q4,on the tailgate, which is still small and discreet. Consequently, the road is almost impossible to feel if you are in a V8 or a V6 and that says a lot about the importance of the commercial 6 cylinder version for the vertices of the Trident.
The interior does not reserve changes and the cabin is spacious with large central display to act as a command center for the infotainment systems. With leather combined with Alcantara, carbon fiber or wood trim, the Quattroporte is always elegant and it is not difficult to feel comfortable when one puts himself in the driving seat. In fact, despite being a flagship, this car is made to seduce you through its handling and its dynamic proverbial behavior. So it is not surprising that in addition to the chance of moving the front seats and steering wheel, there is also one for the pedals that approaches or retreats, depending on your needs.
Equipped with 410 hp and 550 Nm, the V6 Twin Turbo, shares several elements with the largest V8 as the values of bore, technology and variable valve timing of the engine block, as well as an almost mirror-turbocharger technology. A characteristic of these new engines regards the gasoline direct injection at 200 bar which optimizes combustion at higher revs. There’s also a system that ensures the typical Maserati sound with bypass valves that open in Normal at around 3000 rpm while in Sport they remain open. With this engine, the S reaches 285 km / h and gets to 100 km / h from a standstill in 5.1 seconds, while the S Q4 has a maximum speed of 283 km / h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.9 seconds.
The Maserati Quattroporte is a car of exclusive quality. In fact, the new engine – which is made by Ferrari and uses, according to official data, 10.4 liters (0.1 liters more for the integral) per 100 km – is a cutting- edge that sets a benchmark against the competition. As a result, the price starts at € 110,635.
